How is my Child's School Doing? The links on this page will help parents navigate the resources of the California Department of Education to find out how their child’s school is performing on the California Standards Tests (CST).
CST scores are reported as one of five performance levels: Advanced, Proficient, Basic, Below Basic and Far Below Basic. Only levels 5 (Advanced) and 4 (Proficient) are considered as meeting State standards. The State assigns all schools minimum student performance targets that are adjusted periodically. In 2007-08, performance targets for schools and for significant student populations/groups within the schools are as follows: | School Type | Particip. Rate | Proficiency in Lang. Arts | Proficiency in Math | API Growth | Graduation Rate | | Elementary & Districts | 95% | 35.2% | 37.0% | Minimum of 620 OR 1 point growth | N/A | | High Schools & HS Districts | 95% | 33.4% | 32.2% | 83% | | Unified Districts | 95% | 34.0% | 34.6% | 2007 Test Scores Reporting Site http://star.cde.ca.gov/star2007/Viewreport.asp
STAR 2007 TEST The State tests are administered to all students in grades 2-11 in the spring but not all students take every test. The CST addresses Language Arts, Mathematics, History-Social Science, Science, Earth Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Integrated/Coordinated Science 1, 2, 3, or 4. All students are required to take the tests for the grade in which they are enrolled and in order to protect student confidentiality, no results are reported for any group of 10 or fewer students.
Individual student results are not reported on this site. Individual results are available only to parents/guardians and may be obtained only from the schools and districts where students were tested.
